In his early years of skiing, he experienced several minor accidents, which helped him understand the importance of staying safe and skiing within his comfort zone. He has also witnessed many skiers being taken to medical services at ski resorts due to a lack of proper precautions. Motivated by these experiences, Thomas hopes to use his passion for skiing to raise awareness about safety and help reduce sports-related injuries among young athletes. Thomas will attend Sainte-Anne Lachine next year. In addition to skiing, he has a strong interest in science and has been accepted into the SCIMATIC program, which combines science and mathematics. Just as in science, Thomas believes that safety and caution are essential in sports to ensure everyone’s well-being.

Eric Li, President of The Canada Toronto Student Chapter Eric is a 7th-grade fencer at the Toronto Fencing Club and is highly ranked in Canada’s Y13 division. In addition to fencing, he also skis and previously participated in horseback riding. He is one of the top fencers on his team and has competed in numerous tournaments. Through intense training and competition, Eric has experienced various sprains and strains. These experiences taught him the importance of proper warm-ups, stretching, and recovery before and after all sports activities. Over the past four years, Eric has learned valuable lessons about injury prevention—both by working with coaches and by learning from his own experiences. He understands that training smart is just as important as training hard, and that overtraining can lead to injury. Eric hopes to share what he has learned to help others stay healthy and safe in sports. By encouraging proper warm-ups, cool-downs, and balanced training, he aims to help athletes perform their best while avoiding unnecessary injuries.

Mohammad Mehran, President of the India Student chapter Mehran is a 7th-grade student who enjoys participating in a variety of sports, including soccer, tennis, and swimming. He previously attended Wangenheim Middle School in San Diego and is currently a student at Delhi World Public School in India. These experiences have given him a broader perspective on how young athletes train, prepare, and stay safe in different school settings. As a student with experience in both countries, Mehran is interested in helping share basic ideas around safe sports participation—such as the importance of warm-ups, proper recovery, and injury awareness—with his local school and youth community in India, encouraging more young athletes to play safely and responsibly.
